Out of the hundreds of African startups nominated, Gradely has been recognized as one of the top 50 most promising EdTech Startups in Africa by the world’s leading impact intelligence firm, HolonIQ.

I think it’s super impressive how Gradely is following the whole K-12 learning spectrum – shortening the feedback loop to parents and teachers, and using the acquired data to support students learning with resources and tutoring where it is required. It’s no surprise at all that you have done so well and we’re super excited to see where Gradely goes from hereCongratulations on the work that you’ve achieved and on being a part of the 2021 Africa EdTech 50

At the live webinar on Wednesday October 20th, Gradely was announced as part of the 2021 EdTech Africa 50 – HolonIQ’s yearly list of the most innovative EdTech startups in the continent.
HolonIQ is an industry leading market intelligence platform that provides data and analysis of developments in the global education market, providing updates and commentary on companies, countries and industries and how their innovation activities form patterns and trends in the market.  HolonIQ’s 2021 EdTech Africa 50 includes the most promising and impactful EdTech startups across the Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on the young fast-growing companies providing access to learning through content & resources, language & literacy as well as organizations whose focus is to simplify the work of teachers and schools.

Using the HolonIQ platform, the HolonIQ Education Intelligence Unit team and market experts evaluated and selected 50 digital education startups out of numerous EdTech startups from all over Sub-Saharan Africa, based on HolonIQ’s scoring fingerprint that includes capital, team, market, product and momentum.

As a member of HolonIQ’s 2021 EdTech Africa 50, Gradely was one of the 4 companies recognised in the Tutoring & Test Prep category. Gradely, Africa’s first truly personlized learning platform, is an AI-powered adaptive learning app that recommends content and resources (video lessons, practice, and on-demand tutors) to help K-12 students master challenging subject areas. It provides support for schools, parents and teachers to personalize learning resources and help students improve academically.

Students take an initial diagnostic test on the app to begin their learning journey in standalone mode. When the students connect to their schools, the app is able to use data from homework and class quizzes to make recommended results more relevant. Schools use the app primarily to create assessments and recommend/share existing resources to students, but can also use it to create resources, run live classes, create report cards, and manage their schools digitally.
Also, teachers are able to set up homework in 2-5 minutes and set deadlines for students. Students can take homework at home or any location of choice, and the app shows progress reports to teachers, parents, and schools. To really capture how well they are learning over time, the app keeps on stringing former topic questions of increasing difficulty that have not been mastered with new topic questions, all on auto-mode.

Over the past year, the app has become an after-school support and homeschooling tool for parents, and a source of relief for teachers and schools as it is loaded with enough tools, content and resources (50k+ questions, 5k+ video lessons (in both British and WAEC curricula) to help students solve their learning struggles before it’s too late.
